Course Information

The following is just a summary of the training experience we offer. Remember we can tailor your participation on the course to suit your particular training requirements so you get the most from it.

Flatwork

Starting with basic flatwork, learning how to get the best out of your horse on the flat, with the relevant exercises to become more responsive and supple.

Gridwork

Training your horse to travel straight and balanced, working on your horse’s technique, encouraging bascule and also working on the rider’s position.

Showjumping

Everything you need to know about showjumping, from how to build a course, walk a course, how to ride related distances, ride in your jump offs and all the relevant knowledge and techniques from warming up at the show, too being confident about competing at all levels.

Eventing

Training in the aids to have correct control, response and pace to jump the narrowest of fences, i.e.: Arrow Heads, Styles, and Coffins etc. Learning everything from the Preparation, fitness and management of your event horse leading up to your Event, from the Start Box, galloping across country to the finish line.

Showing

We shall prepare you with all you need to know to get you started in the show ring from ring craft with hints and tips to get the best show and keep in the judge’s eye. Through to producing your horse and even yourself!

For the more experienced we shall work through the finer points to help get you to the top of the line. There will be presentations on various new products to help with that all important final look, from nutrition through to leather care. A must for all budding show enthusiast’s.

Dressage

Dressage day courses consist of two lessons one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Riders will have the option of either one half hour one-to-one or one hour shared as a pair. (please specify your preference at time of booking).

Riders will receive test riding tips and can concentrate on selected test formats and movements if they wish. The second lesson can consist of riding an actual test and riders will benefit from tuition from both trainers and judges point of view.
