Matthew Cox
Matt began his passion for everything horse at the age of 8 and has worked his way
up to riding and training his own horse to Grand Prix level.
His current project is Korenbloem Vamos, a strapping 16.3hh, 6 year old KWPN by
Jazz who has the potential to go all the way.
Carl Hester has used Matt as a feature rider in lecture demos at Frogpool Manor,
and as a result of that Matt has been able to take on a lot of Carls techniques
with his own and clients horses.
Matt has also trained with, among others, Andrew Gould, Spencer Wilton, Isabelle
Wessels and Eileen O'conner.
Matt's lessons are based on positive encouragement of the horse and rider as a single
unit. He likes to "have a sit" if the horse is sane to understand the feel of the
horse and his way of going. Every horse is different and Matt is then able to instruct
on how to get the best from the horse. He structures each lesson individually to
work on exactly what the horse (or rider) needs help with.
Matt has trained young and old alike. From all levels. He has also successfully
trained none pure dressage combinations including event, and jumping.
